Since 1994 DHV BEEC Ltd has been active in the water sector. As an engineering company, with the support from DHV in the Netherlands, she is broadly involved in the fields of water supply and wastewater treatment, solid waste, environmental protection, irrigation / drainage and consulting projects in China.

Especially in the water and environment section, DHV BEEC Ltd is very active in China. She is focusing on promotion and application of DHV owned technology, know-how and experience, such as NEREDA®, MBR, CARROUSEL® series oxidation ditch, Dwars® sand filter, Crystalactor® etc.

Leading technologies are the bases for DHV's successful development in China. In the field of wastewater treatment DHV Beijing holds a number of globally renowned patented technologies and equipment, one of which the CARROUSEL® technology, has been essential for the company to achieve successes in the Chinese market. Worldwide more than 1000 wastewater treatment plants have adopted this technology. With a staff of 45, comprising sales, technical and procurement specialists, DHV Beijing is fully capable of carrying out local projects on its own in China.

A few years ago with the acquisition of the NACO Group, the scope of activities in Beijing have been broadened to aviation and a number of prominent airports were designed and planed. Among them the master plan of Terminal 3 of the Beijing Capital Airport is one of the most recent obtained projects.

Another activity which recently has been started in China is on Traffic management and ITS (intelligent transport systems). At present DHV is assisting the Beijing Traffic Bureau (BTMB) with the development of an ambitious traffic management system for the Beijing ring road system.

In Shanghai DHV is already active for many years in the industrial building market. As a worldwide leading company in clean room technology and conditioned buildings, DHV has designed and realised many facilities for Philips microelectronics and other multinationals in the electronics and pharmaceutical field.

Since the establishment of the Shanghai operations a few years ago the office has grown to over 60 highly qualified architects, specialists, technicians, and project managers. Projects are carried out for a wide range of multinational Clients, such as Philips, AT&S, Bayer, L'Oreal, Siemens, IKEA, Givaudan, French and German International Schools, American International School, etc.

The services vary from consultancy, design & engineering, procurement, project management, construction management and construction supervision.

A second main activity operated from the Shanghai office is design and project management services in the field of Ports, waterways, coastal development and Yachting Marina's.

In this field of expertise DHV has been involved in the Nansha Deep Sea Port project, the Taicang Port Masterplan, the Olympic Water Sport Centre in Qingdao, the Shanghai and Dalian Yachting Industry Master development Plans and several marina designs in Hainan, Shanghai and Suzhou.
