Abstract:
In order to prepare for the Olympics of 2008 and after, Beijing Capital Airport is being expanded. The development of a new passenger terminal forms the heart of the massive expansion project, for which NACO prepaired the masterplan in 2002.
8 internationally renowned companies from all over the world, including NACO, were invited to prepare a design scheme for T3. NACO invited Foster Architects and ARUP Engineers and a joint venture was formed in which NACO was the leading partner. In October 2003, the state Council of the People¡¯s Republic of China chose NACO¡¯s scheme to be the winning design.
T3 will be one of the biggest and most advanced buildings of its kind. It will have an initial capacity of 43 million passengers and it will be able to handle several of the new giant A380 aircraft at the same time. T3 will also incorporate an Automated People Mover for passenger comfort and speed.
Construction of T3 Started in March 2004 and will be finished in late 2007.

Project name: Beijing Capital Airport: Hainan Airlines Compound

Abstract:
Hainan Airlines is China¡¯s fourth biggest airline group. Part of its ambitious growth strategy is to expand its operations at the Beijing Capital Airport.
NACO, in collaboration with the Zhongyuan design Institute has won a competition to design a compound where many of HNA's Beijing activities will be concentrated. The compound will house maintenance and catering facilities as well as offices and dormitories. At the request of the client the layout of the base adheres to the principles of Fengshui.
Project name: Tianjin Binhai Airport : New Passenger Terminal

Abstract:
In January 2005, NACO in partnership with KPF (Kohn Pedersen Fox from New York and London) won an international design competition for a new terminal complex for Tianjin Binhai International Airport. The first phase terminal will have a capacity of 6 million passengers and 40 million passengers in its final layout.
Project name: Shanghai Pudong Airport: Masterplan Logistics Park

Abstract:
Shanghai International Airport is expecting to develop into one of the largest cargo airports in the world with an estimated volume of seven million tonnes in 2015. Significant modifications and expansions are necessary to be able to accommodate this growth in volume. Due to this growth of air traffic and the related demand for Logistic Park development the Client offered an international design competition for a Master Plan Scheme for a new Logistic Park at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, covering an area of 235 ha. in the southern precinct of the airport.
The combination NACO, together with logistics consultant Districon Management Consultants from The Netherlands and DHV Shanghai, has been nominated as the winner of this international design competition for the planning and design of a new Logistic Park. The winning scheme encompasses a market analysis, a logistic concept, a planning strategy as well as the translation into a conceptual design.
